A robbery story from Trondheim

The Cultural Rucksack (DKS) on the school’s digital platforms Kulturtanken is a government agency with national responsibility for The Cultural Rucksack (DKS), a unique scheme that has delivered art and culture to school pupils for 20 years. Every year, more than 3,000 productions are produced and shown to around 823,000 pupils a year. The art and culture offered by DKS is highly relevant to the school’s educational mission.

Breaking new ground with an award-winning short film about exclusion

DKS is currently working on making content and resources available on various learning platforms that are currently used by students and teachers. They want to do this in a way that makes the learning offer more visible and tempting to use. In this context, producers Jon Vatne and director Martin Walther have created the short film “Togrøvere”, a gripping story from Ranheim outside Trondheim. The award-winning short film is essentially about exclusion.

Digital accessibility via the various learning platforms already used in schools is both democratizing and facilitates that the offer can be perceived as relevant and diverse

Innsikteriet hired by Kulturtanken for evaluation of pilot

Kulturtanken’s multi-headed needs: In the pilot, DKS wanted to investigate the opportunities and limitations of digital dissemination of art and culture. This was seen from the perspective of the senders: Kulturtanken, the learning platform and practitioners, as well as the recipients: teachers and students. The desired output was to obtain as much knowledge, understanding and insight as possible in order to increase competence and optimize the digital dissemination of art and culture.

Test of the pilot: For the pilot, two versions were created – a fully digital version where all the material was pre-recorded and another version where the filmmakers were on the video link in real time. The latter allowed them to interact with the students. For the communication and interaction with the students, the learning material portal Elevkanalen was used.

The evaluation:
Insights conducted a two-part study: in-depth interviews with both students and teachers from Rosenborg School in December 2022. The pilot test was done at the school. A quantitative survey was also conducted with all students who participated in the pilot.

We would like to thank Innsikteriet for a good collaboration. We experienced good communication throughout the process. Innsikteriet had a professional approach to the problem, and both implementation and reporting met our expectations.
